I am trying to wire a G40 with a AprilAire 700 humidifier with the humidistat control. Connected the R & C to the R & C on the furnace.
For some reason, the unit does not stop from functioning even after the furnace blower is turned off. I have put it at 35% humidity set. Wonder what is happening.
Have I messed up the connection? Let me know. Really appreciate the help. Ohio User

Turn the control down to zero and see if it turns off. IF it doesn't check your wiring again. If it does then you have to install a current sensing relay in the circuit to keep the unit from calling for humidity when the furnace isn't running.

Why would you wire to G and C. G controls the fan, so whenever the fan comes on the humidifier would come on. Unless you live in antartica and you need your humidifier running all the time you can do i that way. I would wire it to W and C. W controls the heat and you want your humidifier to come on only during heating

The proper way is to wire it to the Humid connections on the board or to use a current sensing relay. Using w-c or g-c are both wrong. W-C would call for humidity before the blower is running. G-C would call for cooling anytime the blower is on.
