When we refer to a system as loading or unloading we are referring to it changing it’s capacities. These systems have large tonnages it wouldn’t make sense to have a 100 ton unit always run at 100 tons on cooler days when the system only requires 30 tons. These systems have controls that allow for varying capacities. Therefore whenever a system changes it capacity on the way up we call this loading and when it’s capacity is changing on the way down we call this unloading.
