I have a Lennox furnace model #G23 Q2/3-75. I have a problem where the furnace fails 50% of the time. It requires "rebooting" only when cold - after not running for a few hours. I have dianosed the problem to the pilot flame not coming on, when the furnace fails there is no spark from the electrode to light the pilot other times on retrial the pilot lights and the furnace operates properly. The unit has the Johnson Controls G776RGD-10 ignition control which I understand has some issues. Any suggestions, methods or repair/replacement?

Hi, 1. Just checking if the sparker and wire fixed your problem? On mine I cleaned the spark sensor and still the same issues.
2. I was sourcing a controler as it is a G776RGD-11. That is before reading your post.
3. The pilot assembly did not look all that dirty but cleaned with steel wool. Should I have used Emery cloth? Dull and smooth is how I left it. Will it shine after cleaning? Is my problem the wire?
I am also interested in the issues the Johnson Controls control mod has. The furnace is a G20 Whisper Lennox. Thanks, Sorry to ramble have to reset the furnace now. Thanks, Chris
Thanks Chris

I suggest replacing the sparker and wire.
