I have an older amana heat pump. I don't actually know the model. On the thermostat it has Q674E 1056 8637. I am wanting to install a newer Hunter themostat model 44360.
I only have one problem, that I don't know how to handle.
On the existing thermostat the wires read... W1 W2 G Rc RH Y2 Y1
W1 has white wire W2 has blue wire G has green wire RC has red wire and also a jumper to RH RH is jumpered to RC Y2 has no wire Y1 has yellow
On the hunter thermostat the connections that are available are...
G RC RH Y/O W/B Y1
so obviously the G goes to the G the Rc goes to the Rc the Y1 goes to the Y1 the RC and RH keep the jumper
PROBLEM: where does the W1 or White wire go? where does the W2 or Blue wire go?
I hope i have given enough information.
This is my first attempt at doing any kind of wiring at my house, other than like a ceiling fan. Woo Hoo, 3 wires.
Any help with this would be so greatly appreciated!!

This thermostat is not compatible with your system, you require a multi stage heat pump thermostat. Buy a Honeywell.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.
