I need some help. I am trying to replace a Trane thermostat model 3AAT80B1A1 With a LUX TX1500 Series. The Trane has an 8 wire connection and the Lux only has 7. The only markings on the Trane ard wire color. And I don't know what they go to. The Trane terminals are marked R T O G Y X2 B W and the Lux are marked G Y W RH B O RC. Will this new thermostat work on this unit?

The Trane model you have is a Multi-stage heatpump, so the model Lux you have will not work with this application. Lux does make multi-stage controls though that will handle this system, just tape off the B wire on your Trane, this wire if hooked up can be brutal to your transformer.

I haven’t pulled up a diagram yes since I think you have a multi stage heat pump and the lux thermostat you have is not compatible.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.
