I am designing a HVAC system for a hair salon. Beside the international mechanical code, I can not find information anywhere else (ASHRAE books provide no direct information either). I wonder if anyone has any tips or knows good source for these types of design.

From the design side, I suggest that you have this sucker properly sized and used an economizer. You'll need plenty of fresh air in the salon.
On the service side, I recommend you get them on a monthly service contract so you can keep those filters changed. Salons are horrible for clogging coils due to all the crap in the air.
