Hello Folks
New guy here.

Just purchased this t-stat.
I was told it could replace the cheap analog unit
which controls a Goodman GMT, N-Gas furnace and heat pump
BUT......
It does not work..no display. It is NOT defective as I tried it on my upstairs furnace which is another T8611M.

Connections on old t-stat;
R,Y,G and W.
Blue is connected at Furnace but was not terminated at T-stat.

Any words of help??

THANKS!!

That is a heat pump thermostat and requires a common wire. You may be able to get it running by connecting this blue to the common on both the thermostat and the furnace.

Hello Xenos..

I tried that since I saw the blue was wired at the unit but cut-off at the t-stat..I had to cut all the wires to make the wires even. I tried moving the white to E too.

TIA

Make sure you have 24vac between R and C if you do the thermostat is defective.

R= power
C= common

Don’t know why the difference with the W to E but I know you need the R and C.

YES..R/C...I need to check the 24v and make sure that blue wire ohms out.
