Got a service call, went to the site and found out the compressor was locked up. Breaker did not trip. So I shut off the service and wait for it to cool down. Hours later, I put the power on. The compressor never start up and it did trip the breaker. It is a low temp 2 hp 220vac single phase. Now, is there any trick I can get this baby to start up again? I didn't have a chance to check for short yet. I think it might be shorted to ground internally.

If it's single phase, add a hard start cap in parelle with the run cap.

The compressor was internally shorted. I replaced it today.
