We just replaced the timer for the fan on our roof unit because it would never turn off after the cooling or heating was done. It would stay blowing all the time. We would have to turn off the breaker switch to get it to stop. Replacing the timing coil didn't work. I just went past my intake vent and the fan was going...Thermostat OFF!!! What is up with that???

HELP, do I just need a new unit all together?

Check for power on between the common and G terminal in the unit. If power is present 24 vac then the thermostat subase is bad or there maybe a short between thr red and green thermostat wires.

Had you check the relay? They might be sticky.
