I HAVE A TRANE 5 TON A/C UNIT SOME ONE ELSE INSTALLED IT RUNS GREAT IN THE SUMMER AND IN THE WINTER BUT SPRING TO SUMMER IT FREEZES UP HAVE TRIED CHANGING AMBIENT SETTINGS WORKS GOOD UNTIL I GET A 70 DEG DAY ALSO HAVE A LOWER PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE VAPOR SIDE (26 OFF AND 64 ON) THERE IS NOW TXV IN IT PLEASE HELP

In order for a coil to freeze it must be running below 32F our systems should be designed for 40F however your system is running at a back pressure of less that 58lbs for some reason.
My first guess is your low on air. Any less than 2000cfm and you will result in freezing, check and make sure the belts and filters are clean. Also the system is short of refrigerant.

I find this condition when unit is over sized for the duct system. Works great in the heat of summer but mild days it tends to freeze up. As Xenos said u freeze at 32 to so make cutout 32 degrees(dont have chart in front of me).
