If the water is gong to drain then the float is too high or your bleed line is fully open filling the tower.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.

The bleed line is controlled by a cellanoid and will bleed off per pump setting. The overflow problem comes from the drain outlet being covered by a very small shroud. Wave action and static pressure are what's pushing excessive water out.

hamers, if you can fit a nipple with a 90 into the overflow with a short length of pipe attached down into the sump you may solve the problem of the turbulance pushing the water out.
Did you ever notice that 72 degree room temp. is way to warm in the summer and way to cold in the winter?
