thanks in advance for your help, i have the aforementioned furnace that goes into watchguard mode after about 10 minutes of heating operation. Would the lack of the condensate box be causing that problem. The led lights are flashing alternatly slow.

IF your refering to a trap. Yes. the condensate needs to be traped or it will not drain.
