I installed a new Honeywell Chronotherm III thermostat removing the old one to save on energy bills. After doing so, I programmed it at to be at 64 in the SLEEP mode. What I have been seeing in the past 2 days is that the furnace kicks off every 5 mins in this mode. But the room temperature is maintained at 64. What I am wondering is, why is it kicking it off so many times? If this is the case, will this not be increasing my gas bills ? Or even for that matter, the electric bills to run the furnace? HELP!!!!

sounds like the stat is doing what you programmed to do.
try increasing the deadband.
