Have a York condensing unit where the fan cycles on and off. Compressor is running and unit seems to be holding temp fine but seemed unusual for fan to cycle on and off every 45 seconds or so. any info. would be appreciated.

Sounds like your condenser may have a Low Ambient Kit installed. This allows the Condenser to cool under low ambient (low outdoor temperature) conditions. Some of the low ambient kits vary the condenser fan speed while others use a high pressure switch(closing on pressure rise) that will cut the fan on with a high pressure of perhaps 280psig and fan off at 190psig.

Thank you, have that planned for morning.will let you know. I wasn't sure if there was some kind of cycling switch on the unit. Marc.
