As was mentioned you need a Trane Zone Sensor (T-Stat) to match that unit. If you want to use a conventional T- stat you will have to get a CTI (conventional thermostat interface) board from Trane. That control circuit operates on 5VDC as opposed to 24 V.
Take care with the Trane sensor as it contains only Thermistors and resistors and not switches and contacts.
Good Luck

You need to use a special thermostat like a BAYSENS019B programmable type or a non-programmable type like a BAYSENS006 or BAYSENS008. Trane also has an interface board that would allow you to use a conventional thermostat.

changed out old a/c unit and bought american standard w/heat pump. Was told i needed new thermostat so I bought the trane/honeywell baysens019 which is coded by numbers 7 8 9 etc. My old thermostat is color coded .. R B Y W etc. Blue is common and Red is hot which turns on my thermostat but i get no power on the rest of the baysens board. Do I need a ZONE SENOR?
