Forgive me if this sounds smart-ass, but are we talking about eighty window units, a rooftop package or maybe six of them, a multizone unit with open compressors, DX or chilled-water, water-cooled or air-cooled condensers etc. More info please.

$40,000.00 does not seam high to me for a complete system. It’s all relative to what your cooling. This is not a home were talking about here. Your going to be looking at Roofing, Electrical, Ductwork, Plumping… Not to mention a Crane and possible structural work. Right now I am waiting on delivery of a 20ton multi zone unit, with controls and zoning this job is costing the client over 100G.

Half a Mil. there is no way to tell with out checking out the building, how many windows? how big< how much insulation? to sum it up You get what you pay for, if you have a decent contractor
