We have an old version (light brown) Honeywell T7300 t-stat on a Q7300A (non switching subbase) that will not come out of heat. We replaced both the subbase and the stat and are having the same problem. This sounds familliar to me but I can't remember what we did last time to resolve the problem. Any Ideas?

remove w1 from stat if you still have 24v @ unit you have a short between r+w1,then diconnect w1 wire on unit if you still have 24v on w1 there is short in wire

Work each end of the thermostat wire and check for open or ground or short circuit using your ohmeter. Do you remember doing any remodeling that could have damaged the wires.
