I have been converting all of the t/stats in our facility to digital, from the old mercury type. Using the newer Totaline (not touch screen) Programable Auto changeover.
On the Carriers, its a piece of cake. Did 7 the other day, every single one worked exactly as planned....using the R W1 Y1 G and C terminals.
The Rheems, not so good. I realize that the Rheems need to energize the reversing valve on a call for heat, so that is what the B terminal is, right? What do I do with the white wire (W1)? On the sub-base, the terminal designation for heating is "W1/O/B" so do I land the white wire AND the reversing valve "B" wire there as well? Each time I have tried this I have popped the low voltage fuse.
Also, the new Stat requires a "C" common wire to operate the backlight, so I can just splice into any of the common wires in the control circuit?
I dont know what Im missing here, but its driving me nuts!
thanks folks!
