I have recently heard about Trane units failing during power outages when outside temperatures are cold and I don't know why. I am guessing that it has to do with the unit being suddenly shut down while it is going through it's cycle rather than being allowed to go through it's power down operation. Has anyone heard of this happening before and what causes it?

your system my have a power interruption protection in you board. not allowing system to fire back up until reset, thus insuring customer is aware of an interuption in power during operation. being cold oviously it was running during intruption. just a guess. let me know, so i may never 2nd. guess myself again.
