Gentlemen,
I have a Trane XE900 heat pump with issues...When in the cool position, everything works fine but the direction of the air flow. I get hot air from the inside ducts and cold air from the heat pump outside. Always worked fine until a week ago. Replaced thermostat last fall with a Honeywell RTH7400D everything worked until last weekend.
Help!!!!
thanks

Could be a bad reversing valve too. They are designed to fail in the heat position usually.

verify that option 170 is set to 7 (heatpump w/ Aux heat)
and 190 is 0 (O/B terminal is O)

1. Use the Installer Setup Menu to match your new
thermostat to your heating and/or cooling system.
Follow the steps in this section to set up your
thermostat.
2. Press and release the System button.
3. Press and hold the center button for approximately
five seconds, until the screen changes.
4. Release the center button when the display on
your thermostat reads 0120 20
5. Press the Up or Down arrows to select your setting
for Installer Setup Number .
6. After you select your setting, press the Next button
to go to the next Installer Setup Number.

You have a problem energizing your reversing valve. (O/B)
It could also be a loose wire connection (orange wire)
or a faulty or loose reversing valve solenoid outside.
