I have a Carrier Weather Maker 10ton unit. Cap tubes are clogged up..the unit has two compressors and share the same evaporator. The compressor that is clogged up is Carlyle hermetic recep. mod. # J4500aa-4188J I am trying to find a distributor who knows about the particular unit.. but to no avail.. the Carrier dealers in KC tell me that Carlyle did not make Hermetic compressors...so.. the crux of my problem is evident... Oh.. duh.. I will take the mod# off the other compressor.. assuming they are the same tonnage. If anyone has a better solution... don't hesitate to respond. Thanks.
measure twice cut once.

You need the model & Ser# off the unit to have a base to start from. The compressor # is added data for cross over to new.
Its clear that Carlyle did make "hermetic compressors" in carrier weather makers units, see attached. http://qairterminal.com/compressors.htm
hope this helps
