Well this is one that is not seen often. Had some time and went back to my pool pump heater. I posted this awhile back. Thought it had a lockout but not in the unit. Every time hydro went out the heater locked out. Had trouble getting it started and it tripped out in 5 seconds. Went to the breaker, off, and on and away it went just to lock out again. Breakers never tripped as we know it. Handles never moved to the center position. after this thing locked out again i checked voltages. Nothing anywhere. Went to the breaker 120 to ground on each breaker but no 220 across. Go figure. Breakers must have inturnally tripped. Changed the breakers and everything is fine. Even on a ganged breaker when reseting you can feel the difference in one handle. So, 120 to ground on each breaker but not 220 across both. Figure that one out. I can now throw away my contacts because i've seen everything. Heater works fine now. Just have to figure out the stat settings. They are just numbers. Pool water is 92 degs. A little warm. Thought inquiering minds wanted to know. I've got this thing fixed.
