i ahve a LENNOX GCS24 series ( 2 compressors). I have cleaned the coils many times, after about 2 - 3 weeks, the first compressor shuts off especially on hot days. My only solution so far is to spray a good dose of water with a garden hose and then reset the compressor. I am sick of gooing to the roof on hot days. Any suggestions? Thanks
have a great day

Had the same problemed crap units, I put in automatic high pressure resets on the compressors and clean the coils alot. I hate those units!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck.

Yea, An automatic reset high pressure switch will fix it, Just be sure to stock up on compressors now. Safety switches serve a purpose and that purpose is to protect the compressor. Modify or change them in any way and be prepared for compressor failure! If the unit is running high condenser pressure and you install an automatic reset safety, You are adding to the problem not fixing it. Does this unit have stacked coils?

one on top the other not one in front of the other, cleaned coils with pressure washer, weigh in charge, change driers, clean evap, cond fan correct w new blade & filters etc high pressure resets in my opinion are the next step, if not what would you do?

Got a great suggestion! How about getting some operating pressures and temps to find out whats really going on instead of just guessing?

Sounds like a overload problem you should have your refrigerant checked, plan b maybe a weak capacitor. When you spray the compressor you are cooling it down enough to reset the overload. I use that trick quite a bit. Are all the covers on the unit? it will go out on high pressure if not on some units.

Have you checked line voltage to that compressor?
