Help!! On a 2 compressor Lennox package unit, what would cause compressor #1 to be cold to the touch but compressor #2 is very warm. The unit has the electronic digital readout but no error codes are displayed. The unit is cooling the facility with no complaints but I know something is wrong.

The 1st (warm) compressor is running and pushing freon thru the valves of the 2nd (cold)compressor, thus causing it to cool down...kinda normal on some units...just a possibility...john...austin,texas

Don't be alarmed, only one compressor runs at a time.

if the second stage is on and the first stage is not then I would check the high head manual reset. If it has two condenser fans make sure both are working.

March is right check for high head manual reset, if #2 is running #1 failed, could be bad contactor too.
