Efficiency rating (SEER) is to be taken into account. Utilities are a large expense. Ask about technical support and availability of repair parts. I won’t berate any manufacture, but some just don’t seem to care about technical support and replacement parts availability after the sale! Then when you do finally get them to order it, it’s late and USUALLY the wrong part! (I’m sure some techs will know what mfg I’m speaking of! :) ) So, do some research and see what’s offered. A savings of a few hundred upfront might be wasted on an inefficient unit. Look into federal, state and local energy rebates. I think it’s more than just a ‘name brand’ issue. Best wishes!!! And good luck!!!

I also think Trane is the better way to go. I think you should also ask about a extended parts and labor warranty. You can get a 10 year parts and labor warranty threw most dealers and save a fortune.( alot can happen over 10 years)

Always compare EER ratings if you are located in a southern location. SEER is for those Yankees up North. Trane / American Standard is the way to go.Working with Carrier is like dealing with the IRS.

I don't want to say anything unkind about a particular brand of equipment, but that being said, I'll just say that I do not sell Carrier Equipment unless it's for a residential application.
