i have a message on my thermostat panel that says the temp i am holding my house at with a -AC next to it. i have never seen this before, nor does the inside of the panel reference this as something to watch for. i replaced the batteries in the panel hoping this works. anyone have any idea what the -AC means? did i do the right thing? what else can i do? thanks

No AC voltage is present. Check the breaker for your furnace. You may need to replace a fuse in your furnace.

Would flipping the breaker in my fuse box do the trick or is there an actual fuse in the furnace itself that needs to be changed.

Flipping the breaker may work. Do you have a heat pump? or a package unit?

Your circuit board may have a fuse in it.(usually 3 amp for gas heat and 5 amp for electric heat) If it has popped and you have a heatpump you should look over the wiring to your outdoor unit.
