How do you replace a Command-Air fan motor app 5ton water source heat pump. Appears to be impossible to remove motor out from housing???? Its obivios to see the squirlcage will not fit thru the opening provided for the motor. Previous units ive changed motors on have the removable ring that gets bolted on along with the motor legs and comes off when you unbolt motor. Looks like i need to remove front of duct work and try to get cage and motor thru that opening but just looking for a confo on that b-4 going thru the work of dismantling duct work just to change out a bad fan motor,,,,, Hard to think someone designed it this way !!!!! Thanks HELP

Duke is right, Aint no way you are supposed to dismantle the duct to remove the motor. Youv'e got to be missing something, because even the craziest system engineer would build something that difficult.

You are making this difficult for yourself. You first un-wire and remove the whole blower assembly. Then disassemble everything.
