What's the discharge pressure? Still sounds like a busted valve.

If you have a compressor that is retarding the compound guage, that is usually an indication of a busted valve. If the compressor is sweating from the suction line all the way to the discharge line, then the unit is overcharged. Most TXV's fail in the closed potition, wide open.

well like i said the low side gauge pegs the needle and the compressors are both running but they are hot! the sight glass shows no freon movement and there is no sweating or any indications of proper freon flow at all!!

used my reclaimer and let some of the charge down. when the comp[ressors are running i am getting a reading of about 40 on the r-22 scale on both the suction and discharge sides? They are equal to each other?! again i am seeing no freon movement at the sight glass!
