My thermostat has "Hold -AC" displayed on it and is not working. I changed the battery on it and tried everything possible to reset the thermostat but nothing worked. What does this mean and what do I need to do to fix it?

-AC indicates lack of 24 volts to your stat.
Check your breakers, fuses, and the light switch by the furnace.

If you have a split system, this could indicate a cut in the control wire to the outdoor unit. (And a popped low voltage fuse in the indoor unit circuit board)

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
