I have a Heil Rooftop and I'm not sure of the Model Number becasue it appears to be quite old. Everything has been faded out by the sun. Anyhow, It stopped cooling and I checked it and the fan motor was very tight. I replaced the fan motor and now it's basically doing what it was doing before such as kicking on, but failing to engage the fan. It hums and the fan barely moves until it shuts itself back down. It isn't kicking a breaker but it does shut back off instead of engaging the fan. Sometimes if I allow the unit to sit it will start and engage the fan and run for about 15-20 mins before it shuts off again all the while the inside unit continues to run. It does cool very well when the fan engages on the roof. Any suggestions? Thanks beforehand to anyone who replies.
