I had a honewell mercury thermostat, and now i got a hunter. and the wiring lables are different, can somebody please explain to be where they go. I have 4 wires R,G,Y,and W. please HELP I CANT GET IT TO COOL ITS HOTTT!

Sounds like you're going to need to connect Red to "R"
Green to "G", White to "W", and yellow won't go to "Y1".
Yellow will go to "Y/O". Try that and program it in cooling
and heating. Same thing happened to me when I changed from
Honeywell to a Hunter Thermostat......
Fix it the first time or come back again!

Post the model number of old and new stat.
Are only 4 wires available?
Does the new stat have a C terminal? Does it accept batteries?
Post your answer in Residential or HVAC, I don't view this thread much.
