Hi I forgot the specs, but my new trane has 3 striped wires and a ground, but the connection from the house has 2 black and a ground, how do I wire - I wired the b/w to one wire and the other 3 together. did not power up yet - help

wow who orders your equipment? always check the nameplate before you install.

Is the new unit 3 phase? If so you will need to replace it with a single phase unit. Have you looked at the wiring diagram provided in the unit or are you just arbitrarily connecting wires using the trial and error method? You probably shouldn't be wiring things.
