I think the flame probe on my furnace is defective. The unit will start (draft inducer runs), HSI heats up and gas valve opens, gas ignites but the gas valve closes right away. The control module gives a 6 flash LED diagnostic code. This cycle will repeat a few times then usually operates normally for awhile afterwards. The installation manual only lists diagnostic codes up to 5 flashes (White/Rodgers 50A50-110). Anyone know what 6 means? Thanks.

Its a 'Comfortmaker RPJ II' manufactured by Inter-City Products (their model number is GUI075A012BIN). The control is a White Rodgers 50A50-110. The gas valve shuts off just a second or two after ignition, maybe a failing flame probe? 6 flashes of the LED. thx.

I also have a Comfortmaker Furnace with the same problem. Could you tell me where the Heat Probe is located?
Thank you.

Should be left burner, Has i single white wire connected to it. It is a steel rod. Little sand or use steel wool.

Went to your website to give you my city and state. Apparently you already have take the liberty to attach a city and state to my name. Unforunately you are wrong. I am not from Elgin, Illinois. Dallas is more like where I am from. Next time be sure before you leap.

Ok guys, I've got the 6 flashes and I just replaced the flame sensor. I am still getting the 6 flashes. One thing that is different than what's been talked about is that I am trying run my AC, not my furnace. The blower will not start up, but the condensor (outside unit) seems to be working fine. Anyone have any ideas???
Thanks for any replies.
