Hi, all. A Rheem upflow split unit. Bought used, new install (house previously had floor furnace). Thermostat came with used unit and has R,W,Y,G,1,2 contacts. Thermostat in indoor unit has C,R,W,G,Y. Outdoor unit has no power yet, and no thermostat connections made to outdoor unit. Thermostat connections Y,R,W,G made to correcponding terminals on thermostat. When I apply 120 VAC to indoor unit there is no voltage present on any of the thermostat terminals. Shouldn't 24 VDC be present between C (Common) and R (Power)? Also, when I turn the thermostat to "FAN On", nothing happens. Advice, anybody? TIA

Yes 24 vac should be present and a short between R and G should start the fan.
