I am getting ready to install a Honeywell T8611R to replace my old Janitrol HPT18-60 thermostat. The existing wiring is Y,G R O, W2, E & C. The new wiring options are R,C, O, P, B, L, Y1, W1, E, W2, & G. Can I assume the corrsponding letters will be the same wires?

I tell you what you may run into. You may have to install the wiring the same as your old stat and install a jumper from y1 to w1. y on your old stat goes to y1 on the new one and w1 has only the jumper on it. I hope this help more than confuses.

The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.

Many Thanks. I installed it today and it works flawlessly. My T8611R already had a jumper installed on the Y1 - W1.
You definetly made me feel more comfortable doing this myself.
