A loud buzzing sound - can hear throughout the entire house - when the heat is in operation. Sound begins once the heat has been in operation for a few minutes. Seems to only occur in a specific temperature range. However, I could be in error on that observation. I have taken the cover off to attempt to locate where the noise is coming from but it is so loud that I cannot pinpoint its location. Any help? John

We encounter the same buzzing noise. It occurs when the furnace is running for a while. It won’t occur every time the furnace comes on though. Also, our thermostat (programmable) is resetting itself recently and the first time it happened was at the same time we heard the buzzing sound from the furnace. I wonder if a short circuit somewhere within the furnace causes the thermostat to reset itself. I would greatly appreciate any input. Thanks!

I would be looking for a loose wire or connector.

The only thing I can think of would be a relay, seized motor Or a transformer that the plates are coming loose on.

Help, I'm getting the same problem with my Peerless boiler. I can't recreate the problem, so the plumbers and our local gas company won't stick around to hear it happen. Sometimes the buzz is a split second, sometimes it's 5-6 seconds. Either way, it's terribly disruptive and any ideas on what could be causing it would be appreciated. The boiler heats 2 zones: basement (one manual thermostat, new)and first floor (Hunter SetNSave therm), all baseboards. It has 2 pumps: New for basement baseboards and the old one for upstairs 3 Relays: Older Aquistat (sp?), and 2 new Honeywells. We could swear the noise is coming from inside the boiler.
