The trane air handler I just bought does not have heat strips installed. I live in the southeast zip 31324 where the temp avg low is about 38F during winter. I am using a trane heat pump 2.5 ton xe 1000 and TWE030C140 air handler. Replacing 2 ton rheem classic X system. Thanks for any answers

I live in southwest florida and I have them. You may not use them much, but if your heat pump fails during cold weather at least you'll have backup heat.
Keep Cool!
