I have recieved several quotes for the installaion of this unit and am curious on one item that is listed diffenetly on the quotes. The item is a C33 COIL and is on one quote as just that and on another as a CASED C33 COIL. Is there a difference between the two? Is there any performance or operational benefits of one over the other? Thanks

You might ask the person who quoted the one that just said "C33 coil" if it will be cased or not. I have had to get onto my sales and servicemen for not being detailed in proposals. The designation on a lennox coil for example C 33 - 18 A - 2 F
C- means it is an upflow evaporator coil, 33 is the model series of the coil, 18 is the capacity which in this case is 1 1/2 ton coil, A is the cabinet width whcih this one is 14 1/2" wide (it could also have a B, C, or D designation as well), 2 is the metering device which is a factory installed RFC, and F means it is a cased coil. Uncased units have no letter designation at the end. Hope this helps!

The one that says cased has an enclosure built around the coil from the factory. The other is just a loose coil that is placed inside the plenum (ductwork). The cased coil is nice because if you need to get into it for service you just remove some screws and your in.
Keep Cool!
