When the Tempstar AirConditioner from the attempts to power on the 3 amp fuse on the Furnace blows and the air conditioner does not turn on. My Father In-Law moved one of the red wires when he was at the residence last time and it worked so he left. Now the same thing is happening again as soon as he walks out the door. The manual says that this is due to the 24v Wiring, I suspect that it is the way I have it wired although it could also be a short according to the manual. Anyone know if we wired this right?

is this only during a call for cooling?

I have tested the compressor contactor and it seemed OK. I don't have a 24 V to check the magnetic switch, but it worked with our car battery charger. The fuse blows but the switch never triggers.

I don't know if this will be relevant, but I have had the same issue with Goodman units 24Volt wiring, I have had the same occur when then neutral off the transformer was connected to the rest of the neutrals instead of it's designated spot on the circuit board. It's given me browm boards to just a blown fuse.

I don't see anything like that. All the wires are going into the insert plugs except the 24 volt wiring that I have diagramed.

You have damaged thermostat wires, most likely @ the outdoor unit. Moving them apart so they don't touch each other works for a while till it rains. The stat wire either needs to be fixed or a new one ran.

I will check the cables when I go onsite later and replace them. I will start with the external air conditioner thermostat wires at your recommendation TexasTech. So this diagram that I drew out is wired correctly?

The cables were VERY tattered. I replaced them but it did not impact the symptoms.
