having problem, when a/c turned on, i get the smell of gas through out house, faint but there. if i turn off gas valve and run a/c no smell. I have found that when turning on a/c, gas valve clicks as if being energized. I think this problem started when lux 1500 was installed.
heater is aprox 30yrs old but other wise functions fine.
a/c unit is 15 years old and cools well
any help? thank you

Try pulling off the W wire at the thermostat and run the cooling. If the gas valve doesn't energize, then re-check the wiring or else the thermostat could be defective.
