I have a Keeprite furnace and a Payne central air unit, both are new, the thermostat is a honeywell 4 wire battery operated unit. The air and furnace fan have been working fine, <> but now i hear a humming sound coming from the motor area, i suspect its the transformer. I'm sure the wiring from the thermostat is good, but if it weren't, i don't think it would cause this symptom. Is it fairly common or normal to hear a little humming sound from the furnace transformer...? What do you recommend ? thanks. joev

Yes it is and if the trasformer plates are loose at all, it will keep you up all night. If it'a too loud have it replaced.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.
