The condensing units are getting very hot due to some low clearance in front of it. What would happen if hot air is striking a wall and getting back at the unit. Could it lead to compressor failure ?

Yes but I would be more concerned with the drop in SEER and the increase in energy costs to reject the heat.

OK for the SEER, but how would the compressor fail ? Due to high pressure ?
The compressor lost it's compression, meaning the discharge line has very little pressure coming out ... can this be due to overheating ... ? because the manufacturer is backing up from his 3-yr warranty on compressor due to this .... mind you the ambient does not exceed 100-105 degF

I guess it really depends on how extreme it is. Yes the head pressure will be increased therefore so will the compression ratio, if the system is not equipped with a TXV compressor damage may occur. On the other hand if the entering air temperature is not exceeding 105F I would think it’s possibly overcharged.

P.S. I have never heard of a manufacture not covering the warrantee on a compressor.

The compressor is a 72000 Btuh Bristol recip. The temperature coming in the condensing unit is 110 F although the ambient temperature does not exceed 88 F. So effectively the discharge from the CU is impaired by ventilation ducts passing in front. The AC unit is GENERAL (Japanese Brand.
Can the dealer use this situation as a reason for un-warranted compressor failure ???

I need an non-biased reply ... Thanks

If it is not installed according to the installation instructions yes. But how do he know how it's installed?
