I replaced an A.O. Smith motor today with a Fasco, now I have no fan. The dual capacitor is rusted, and I can't see any marks or dents on it anywhere, but it has one terminal with 2 posts, one with 3, one with 4. The old motor was wired blue to the terminal with 2 posts, red to the terminal with 3 posts, orange to the one with 4 posts. There is also a yellow wire on the one with 4 posts, didn't pay attention to where it came from. On the new motor, I have brown, white, black, and brown/white. The guy who sold me the motor told me not to use the brown/white. Hooked the black to the contactor, brown where the blue was, and white where the orange was. That didn't work, so I reversed the brown and white. Still nothing. The guy tested the capacitor and said it was good. I just sent my multimeter off to be repaired and calibrated, so I can't check stuff at the moment. I have a wife, a 4 year old and a 6 year old that won't let me sleep 'til I get this fixed, so HEEEEELP!!!! Thanks, Steve.

I have no idea about colors or posts. You have a duel capacitor that has 1 compressor terminal one common terminal and a motor terminal.
The brown wire goes on the motor terminal. Witch ever winding is the run winding will connect to main power on the cap, and the last wire is the common power wire. Look on the motor for a wiring diagram.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.
