Forty year old gas furnace with a pilot light that goes out every few weeks? Trying a new universal thermocoupler didn't seem to help.

If the flame is making good contact it may be the valve, if the flame looks small clean the pilot orfice, P.S. yes it's only a pin hole don;t make it any bigger.
