I have the original Trane Weathertron thermostat on my small office heat pump. I'd like to replace with a set-back thermostat and....if not too expensive a touch screen.
In either case I can't determine a good replacement. Do I need a multi-stage vs 2 stage? I do have Aux Heat and Emergency Heat indicators on the old t-stat.
The current wires include: W, B. T. Y. G. X2. R. O
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. - Mark markbytes@comcast.net

You require a multy stage heat pump thermostat.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.

I have found some 2 stage heat / 1 stage cool thermostats. Would that be sufficient to replace the Trane Baystat339?
Any way or wires I can look at to figure this out? Guess I'm confused by difference between 2 stage and multi stage?
thanks!!!
Thanks! - Mark

Must be a heat pump 2stage heat 1 stage cool. A 2stage heat 1 stage cool doesnt mean it will work with a heat pump.

The TH83210U and TH83211U will work.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
