Hello,

I have a Lennox Furnace. (appeox 15 yo)Not sure of the model number. It has what appears to be a glow plug type of ignitor. (Sorry I fix planes so Im not up to speed on the HVAC terminology) Anyway, the damn thing seems to start the cycle normally up until ignition time. I can hear a fan start to run for a minute or so, then the gas comes on and appears to light....for about 2 to 3 seconds....then shuts off. But the fan still runs. Then the cycle starts again. This goes on and off for about 5 minutes. Then all goes quiet. When I look at the Honywell thermostat, the flame indicator is illuminated. Usually this is only displayed when the furnace is running. What I found is, that if I shut off the thermostat then turn it back on, the furnace operates as it should. But once that initial cycle is complete and it turns off for a while, it won't start up agian, unless I turn off, then turn back on the thermostat......any ideas?

Thanks

Clean the flame sensor.
