hey all!

working with a rite-temp 8082c thermostat, and an aprilaire 550 humidifier.

i contacted riretemp, and they told me to wire the white wire coming out of the humidifer to the H terminal on the thermostat, and wire the red wire to the RH terminal.

ok,

i tried wiring the white to h, and red to rh, and it wouldn't work. the thermostat turned on the air handler fan, but not the humidifier.

i then wired the red to C, white to H and it worked as described, fan on , and humidifier on when the thermostat calls for humidity. is this ok wiring?

I would say they gave you the incorect wiring and you figured it out.
