I have a forced hot air gas furnace. About 14 years old and runs fine. I consider myself technical and handy (most mechanical things, etc.) I replace the filter regularly and vacuum out the inside areas around the blower. The blower spindle, belt and motor do not have grease fittings and continue to run quiet. There is no signs of corrosion and the wiring is tight with no signs of fraying or burn marks.
My question is....what am I missing? Should I be scheduling a professional furnace cleaner to come and do "tune-up"? My experience with Auto dealers is that the do not really accomplish anything inthe tune-ups that I don't do myself.
So....am I missing out on something by not having the Pro in? Suggestions??
Thanks! - Mark

Definately no older than 14 years....(that's the age of the house). My memory may be playing tricks on me about the belt drive.
I'll check.
Are there instructions or books that might tell me what else to look for....or is special equipment needed?
thanks, again. - Mark
