Early in the morning and later at night when it is a relativly light load the AC unit has tripped off on pressure switch( 5 flashes on LED). I would have to guess on low pressure since the 2 switches are in series.Charge was checked and superheat was 35 so freon was added. It is now at a superheat of 20( it wouldn't take more). It went out again last night after running good for 3-4 days . Any Idea's? It is a 2 speed split system 1/2-3 ton carrier synergy.

Need more info, I will say this, it could be almost anything, what does the unit label state about the 5 flashes? I need the Model & serial number as well.

The 5 flashes indicate a pressure switch has tripped. It latches on this error and has to have the power cycled before it will restart. The high pressure switch and the low pressure switch are wired in series(wow, stupid) so it is imposible to tell unless I find a data collection unit or put gauages and watch them for hours :-( Serial # 409SE02520 Model# 38TDA036300
It happened once before the charge adjustment, it has happened 4 or 5 times since. I am trying to let it build up a little heat load before swithcing it on now so it won't keep tripping, it seems to help.
When it powered up after the first trip, I had my gauges on it and it had sat for hours. I saw some "weirdness": The low pressure fluctuated and the condensor fan sped up and slowed down, a kind of hunting; then it was fine for 3 days before tripping again.
