How old? If its a 1992 or newer you dont have a fan limit. the first 4 digits of the serial number indicate week and year of manufactor date.

The first 4 numbers are 3783. I guess it was made in 1983. Any tips?

If its indeed an old bryant it probably has a timer that heats a small coil, time delay if you will....some had a slide adjustment on them and you can make note of the current setting and work it back and forth a few times and hope for the best....I'm sure there are still factory replacements out there but I still salvage one to carry in my van to get me out of a pinch.

where is this 'push button' located?
Thermostat (thur me-stat') The 1st thing a HomeOwner suspects is wrong which is usually wrong thinking on their part. If in doubt jump it out.

The push button is located on the inside of the top panel of the furnace. When the top panel is in place, the button is pushed in. Already tried replacing the thermostat, that was not the problem.
